The Bordeaux blend brings deep fruited Petit Verdot, wild berry fruit aromatics with notes of mint and eucalyptus from the Cabernet Sauvignon and rich smokeymocha quality from the merlot. The palate repeats these characters with high-toned fruit and fresh acidity giving great balance. It’s vibrant and juicy and so well put together – an excellent “super-Tuscan” from2016. £60.00 £72.00 Lovely cherry colour. Lovely fine pure sour cherry but with tobacco notes quite reminiscent of Chianti. On the palate its sweet tart, fine, pretty sour cherry, withbaking spice, savoury darkminerality and a hint of bitterness which lends lovely textural andflavour balance. in a good way. Its grippy and structured and built for the long-haul! A delicious Tuscan 2016. £102.00 Awonderful deepdark red colour in the glass, the nose regales youwithblack and redberry fruit, violet and rose petal too; it is extremely pretty. The palate has real gravitas, and a lovely volume of dark berry and black cherry fruit, the most wonderful texture and such concentration. Sweet black fruit nose: rose, black cherry and redcurrant too. Very complex this, mineral and precise, very fresh, fine tannin. 12.7% alcohol, which is great. 80%whole bunch. Excellent balance and vervematched by a lengthy finish. £289.00 £115.60 “The 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru comes froman east-facing hill equally balanced between clay and limestone, averaging 45-year old vines. (It was supposed to be classified Grand Cru in 1936 but was denied because it can suffer in cooler vintages.) The bouquet is fresh and detailed, featuringmineral-rich dark berry fruit lacedwith bay leaf and black tea. The palate ismedium-bodiedwith supple tannin. This comes repletewith crunchy red berry fruit lacedwith cracked black pepper and an insistent grip toward the almostMorey-like finish.
