Beautiful confected blackcurrant ‘opal fruit’, rose and raspberry. There’s mediumplus weight on the palate, fresh and well structured, lots of finesse with good salinity. NM91-93 £304.00 £60.80 This Brunello shows a bright vibrant nose of red fruit, a lovely pure expression of Sangiovese. There arewild strawberry, mineral, meaty and herbal notes jumping from the glass and the palate reveals more generous ripe fruit with additional spice and smoke flavours. Full bodied, juicy but serious the tannin is very fine and inky giving a bit of gip, in it’s youth, on the long cool finish. A very well-made wine from this warmer vintage. More interesting are the quite finely detailed middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of inner mouth perfume before culminating in a punchy if borderline rustic finish. An intensely perfumedManzanilla. On the palate the wine is full and full of flavour with a good, roundedmouthfeel. The finish is very long with a gentle nuttiness and there is plenty of freshness whichmakes this a very foody wine but also a verymoreish wine. Outstanding.
