I recall the 2015 vintage showing enhanced density and richness, and this wine unfolds in a very similarmanner. Perhaps the difference between the two vintages is more clearly enunciated in terms of mouthfeel. This 2016 vintage gives the impression of being more linear, tight and structured. The nose is laden with red fruit but also has gamey, leather and liquorice notes. The tannins have softened, they are fine and well integrated into the heady mix of red fruit, spice and herbs. Still full bodied, the finish is now incredibly long but with a real softness of touch and the freshness is still there backed up by a handful of wild herbs.
