DOMAINE THOMASMOREY - CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET Thomas Morey belongs to the tenth generation of his family to make wine in Chassagne-Montrachet. Having previouslyworked at the familyDomaine in 2007, Thomas decided to set uphis ownwinerywithhis wife, Sylvie. Chassagne-Montrachet ismost certainly in Thomas’s blood. His ancestor ClaudeMorey arrived in Chassagne in 1643! Over time, the family built up enviable holdings in Chassagne, either acquiring by inheritance or purchasing plots of vine-growing or fallow land and passing these on to their descendants. While we were unable to taste in 2021 in his small cellars right in the middle of the village of Chassagne, in the past we have always found his wines are spellbinding. There is never a single cuvée or vineyard that isn’t sensational. The style is on the more modern side, clean, pure, fresh and precise. He exudes terroir -driven wines and might be the next superstar white winemaker in Burgundy. We are thrilled to be welcoming Thomas and his exceptional wines to the Farthinghoe family.
