DOMAINE BERNARDMOREAU ET FILS - CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET

WHITE BURGUNDY CÔTEDEBEAUNE

Farthinghoe have had a relationship with Alex Moreau for around 15 years, and in that time, we have seen his star truly rise and continue to burn brightly. It is safe to safe the word really is out there with top collectors and critics lining their cellars with these stunning Chassagne based wines. The 2021s have a real softness and purity true to style. His 1er Cru vines are all between 30 and 70 years old. They give quite low yields which provides depth of flavour and concentration, but Alex manages to balance that with fresh acidity and only a gentle use of oak. In the winery he deliberately encourages slow and gentle winemaking, usually still fermenting the juice until the spring following harvest. Alex notes this brings a rounder texture and encourages oak integration. Domaine Bernard Moreau continues to make supremely confident and understated wines that stand the test of time.
