WHITE BURGUNDY WHITE BURGUNDY CÔTEDEBEAUNE OSA: On Strict Allocation 46

DOMAINE PATRICK JAVILLIER - MEURSAULT Unfortunately, Domaine Patrick Javillier were another Domaine who were not receiving visitors this year because of the incredibly low yields from their vineyards due to the frost. We were saddened to not see Marion as we have been working closely with her and her father for many years. The philosophy of the Domaine is centred around long lees aging and not toomuch time in barrel. Most cuvées are removed from the barrels after one year to finish maturation in tank on fine lees, a technique that M. Javillier believes is key to long term bottle aging. The Bourgogne blancs are vinified separately by lieu-dit allowing a beautiful expression of terroir even at this level. Clos Cromins and Clousots cuvées see no new oak at all, allowing them to express the character of the vineyard with even greater clarity. Bright and pure, these wines are of a style that we love and we believe that they should suit this classic vintage very well.
