DOMAINE TOLLOT-BEAUT ET FILS - CHOREY-LES-BEAUNE TheTollot-Beaut familyhavebeen inBurgundy formany generations, startingwhengreat great grandfather Francois Tollot planted vines in Chorey-les-Beaune. In the 1880s and his son Alexandre because one of the first in the area to actually bottle their wines at the domaine and to import outside of Europe. The scene was set for a great dynasty of wine making and tasting with Nathalie this year was, as ever, such a pleasure, and deeply insightful. There is such approachability to her wines, and her 2021s are cool and classic. She is delighted with the lower alcohol levels and generous levels of acidity which frame the wines all in finesse. Harvest was back to the usual timing of late September this vintage unlike the August harvest dates from the previous year. She destems and therefore doesn’t use whole bunch to maintain character and power, andwines are aged in nomore than 50%newoak for the GrandCrus, so there is a superb texturewhilst not being overly marked by the wood. There is a lovely acidity, freshness and energy in these wines. Really very delicious!

CHOREY-LES-BEAUNE Very pure with strawberry and raspberry fruit, lovely and fresh. Tasty and fine, a lovely simpler drinker. Nice savoury complexity. Nice length, well balanced. 2024-2029 £134 / 6BOTTLES CHOREY-LES-BEAUNE, LAPIÈCEDUCHAPITRE 1.5 hectare plot, around 70-80 year old vines. Harvested later than straight Chorey. Lovely, fine, floral strawberry, herbal hints on the nose. Sweet, open strawberry, hedgerow fruit with bigger grip, very fine tannins, more serious and savoury. Mineral with saline and liquorice elements. 2025-2030 £144 / 6BOTTLES SAVIGNY-LES-BEAUNE, LES LAVIÉRES So pretty, bright and elegant. Very fresh and silky with crunchy berry. Brambly, silky, fine and pure. Hints of liquorice and cocoa. So delicious! 2025-2034 £144 / 6BOTTLES

BEAUNE, 1ERCRUCLOSDUROI A nose of seductive crunchy fruit. Floral and aromatic with finesse. In that classic Beaune style, the palate is a lot denser andmore serious than the nose suggests. Still with a crunch of fresh berries on the refreshing finish. 2029-2037 £139 / 3 BOTTLES 2030-2039 £278 / 3MAGNUMS CORTONGRANDCRU Big step up (naturally) from Aloxe, very finessed, pure and lifted raspberry and cherry fruit with a hint of cocoa powder. There’s redcurrant, cola spice and cherry. On the palate there’s a real freshness and intensity, fine, bright and grippy, oak showing but not intrusive. Powerful yet at the same time restrained and understated. Impressive. 2032-2041 £220 / 3 BOTTLES
